I'm going to tell you something about myself I still haven't figured out. No lesson at the end. Just the honest version.
I have a long past. That's not a secret, my past was literally my job. Kissing strangers on camera. Years of it.
And when I picture being with a woman who has a past like mine, I feel disgust.
Not judgment I chose. Not a standard I sat down and reasoned my way into. A feeling, in my body, before my brain even gets a vote. What's a woman with a past?
I know exactly how that reads coming from me. The math doesn't math. The guy with the longest history in the room wants the cleanest one across the table. If a woman held my own résumé against me, I'd call her crazy.
I've heard every explanation for it too. It's evolution. It's insecurity. It's projection. It's society. Some of those might even be partly true. But I'm not going to stand here and tell you some theory dissolved the feeling, because it didn't. I can see the double standard clearly, I can admit it's unfair out loud, and the feeling just sits there anyway, completely unbothered by my logic.
That's the part nobody talks about. Everybody online wants to hand you a clean answer. One side says the feeling is toxic and you should shame it out of yourself. The other side says the feeling is wisdom and you should build your whole life on it. Both sides are selling certainty. I don't have certainty. I have a contradiction I'm still sitting with.
Here's the only thing I've figured out so far. Pretending the feeling isn't there doesn't work. I tried that. It leaks. It shows up as coldness toward a woman who did nothing but answer a question honestly.
So the only move I trust right now is being honest about it, with myself first. The feeling is real. The unfairness of it is also real. Both things are true at the same time, and I'm not resolving them tonight.
Maybe the feeling fades as I get further from my old life. Maybe it's pointing at something real about what I want. Maybe it's the last piece of the old me I haven't buried yet. I genuinely don't know.
But I'd rather hand you an honest contradiction than a fake conclusion. There's enough guys online pretending they've got it all mapped.
So today I'm asking you the same question I'm asking myself. What's the feeling you can't talk yourself out of? The one that survives every argument you throw at it.
Reply and name it. One sentence. No fixing, no advice back, I just want to know I'm not the only one carrying one of these.
