Sunday I told you the festival chapter is closing, and that there's a bigger reason why. Here it is.

In a week or two I'm leaving the country. Alone, with one backpack. Six months, maybe longer. First stop is Portugal. After that there's no set route. Egypt, Dubai, Southeast Asia, Australia, Japan are all on the list, but I'm not locking anything in. I'll figure it out as I go.

Here's the real reason.

Somewhere in the last couple years, I lost myself. Not in a dramatic way. In the quiet way, where you keep doing the things you think you're supposed to do and stop asking what you actually want. I booked festivals I didn't want to go to because that's "my thing." I made videos I thought I should make. I built a whole life around being one guy, and I never stopped to check if I still wanted to be him.

This trip is me going to find out who I actually am. No plan, no itinerary, just me and a camera, figuring out what I actually want to do instead of what I thought I was supposed to. Call it self-discovery if you want. I'm calling it the most honest thing I've done in years.

Sunday I asked you what you've outgrown but keep doing because it's yours. The replies were a friend group that only talks about the same stuff. The bar scene. A job someone's been in for over a decade. Different things, same shape. Something that used to fit, that you keep showing up to anyway. And the way most guys handle it is waiting. For the feeling to pass, for the right time, for a sign.

That's the trap. There is no right time. And most people run their whole lives backwards because of it. Grind through your 20s and 30s to get secure, get comfortable, and then travel and go see things when you're older. But it doesn't work like that. Thailand at 24 with no commitments and a backpack is not the same thing as Thailand at 55 with a tour group and a schedule. It doesn't hit the same, and you can't get it back. The time to go is when you're young and nothing's holding you down. That's not a reason to wait. That's the whole reason to go.

And I want to be straight with you. I'm not ready. I leave in a week or two and I haven't booked the first flight. I don't know where I'm staying the first night. Every reason to push this to "next year" is sitting right in front of me, and that's exactly why it has to be now. Ready isn't something you feel before you leave. It's something you build by leaving. Same as walking up to her. You don't wait to feel ready. You go, and ready shows up somewhere after.

What changes for you: nothing, except the backdrop. These emails keep coming twice a week from wherever I am. The videos keep coming. They're still going to be about confidence, women, and building a life you actually want. But they're also going to be the content I want to make, not the content I think I'm supposed to. If I'm being honest, that's the part I'm most excited about.

Portugal first. Then wherever makes sense. I'll tell you the second I have a date.

P.S. Six months, one backpack. Where would you go first? Reply with one city. I'm not locked into anything, so I might actually go.
